Butterfly Monitor Trainings  

We are looking for new citizen scientists to monitor butterfly routes in 2021! In order to become a monitor with the Michigan Butterfly Network you must complete one of the training workshops. Click through the location tabs below to learn more about the trainings in an area near you. Kalamazoo

Butterfly Monitor Training: 

Saturday, May 22, 11 am - 1 pm

Fee: Free for Members and non-Members; donations appreciated. 

KNC staff will host a virtual butterfly monitoring training on Saturday, May 22, 11am-1pm. This free program is open to past and new participants throughout the state of Michigan. Donations are welcome and will help support MiBN’s annual operating costs. We appreciate your consideration of a tax-deductible gift now more than ever!  

With optimism, a potential field day is being planned for June 5 at 1:30pm, pending favorable COVID-19 circumstances. Please stayed tuned to KNC’s website, eNews, and social media platforms for more information as this date grows closer.

North American Butterfly Association July Butterfly Counts

Come join us for the 2021 4th of July NABA butterfly counts! The more eyes the better! $3 participation fee. SW Michigan dates and locations are as follows:

Allegan - Wednesday, July 7

Rogue River - Monday, July 5th

Newaygo - Monday, July 12

Muskegon - Saturday, July 10

Kalamazoo - Saturday, July 17
