Butterfly Monitor Training
Saturday, May 16, 10 am - Noon & Field Day TBD
Registration is now closed for this event.
The Michigan Butterfly Network is going virtual! Although we would love to host our butterfly monitoring training in person, we also want to keep our Michigan butterfly enthusiasts safe. So, on Saturday May 16th from 10am-12pm, we will be hosting Part 1 of the butterfly training as a webinar. Part 2, our outdoor portion of the training, will be rescheduled for a later date. In this training you will learn about the Michigan Butterfly Network, the protocol for monitoring butterflies, and how to identify our Top 25 species! Upon completion of this training and the following outdoor training, you will be able to monitor butterflies in a public area near you and contribute valuable butterfly observations to a national database. Researchers and land managers can then use this data to ask new questions and inform ongoing issues. Because running this online version of the training is so new to us, we will be offering it this year for FREE! We still ask that you register online here, so we can send you the link to join the webinar. Hope you can join us.
